DEEP SOUTH CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT SET TO BEGIN ON FRIDAY
 
Mars Hill, N.C.----The 2008 Deep South Conference tournament begins on Friday, April 18 with two semi-final games at Mars Hill College and the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium. Wingate University won the regular season title.

Wingate is the top seed and will take on number four seed Saint Leo (Fla.) University at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 18. Catawba is the second seed and will battle with the third seeded Mars Hill College Lions at 8 p.m. on April 18.

Wingate (11-2 overall, 4-0 DSC) defeated Saint Leo (6-7 overall, 1-3 DSC) 13-7 when the two teams met in the regular season. Catawba (6-6 overall, 3-1 DSC) topped Mars Hill (8-5 overall, 2-2 DSC) 9-8 in their regular season match-up. 
The Deep South Conference tournament championship game will be played Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets to the DSC tournament will be available at the door. Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $2 for students. The ticket booth opens at 4 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
